An Overview:

Students will learn to use the Manual Alphabet, numbers, vocabulary signs, daily phrases, body language, facial expressions and sentence structures to develop their expressive skills.  To develop their receptive skills, they will learn how to "listen" with their eyes to read both instructor and other ASL users' fingerspelling and signing through the use of the Deaf guest speakiers and Deaf people in the classroom.  They also will learn how to modify the way of thinking ASL as a visual language, not a spoken language.  They will also expand their vocabulary, build ASL sentences, learn the Deaf Culture and develop their social skills with the Deaf people.
